To guarantee a smooth registration process, potential corps members must strictly adhere to the following:

1. Nysc.gov.ng 2. Nysc.org.ng 3. portal.nysc.org.ng - In order to register, prospective Corps members need make sure they have Nigerian (GSM) phone numbers and working email addresses. They are encouraged to keep the email address and password secure because they will use it to check in to the NYSC portal later.
- Prospective Corps members who have received local training are expected to register using their correct matriculation numbers.
- Only graduates with local training whose names are on the Senate/Academic Board Approved Result lists that their institutions have submitted will be able to access the register on the NYSC portal.

- Presenting any fraudulent documents will result in demobilization, decampment, and transfer to law enforcement for prosecution.
- Potential corps members should confirm that the passport photos they use adhere to the following guidelines:1. Make sure your entire face, including your lips, jaw, nose, ears, and eyes, is visible without bending.2. Verify that the image is centered and fills the frame.3. Verify that there are no shadows on the white or off-white photo background.

- Prospective corps members should never register via PROXY. As these will be utilized for verification at the orientation camps, they should also keep in mind the fingers that were used to capture their biometric information. Those who are unable to provide their biometric for verification during the orientation camp will not be allowed to register.
- Only potential corps members who would like to PRINT their call-up letters online and receive their call-up numbers by SMS are need to pay N2,786.24 (for payment instructions, see the NYSC Portal).
- Prospective Corps members can pick up their call-up numbers and call-up letters at their schools if they choose not to pay the N2,786.24.
- It is not necessary for any potential corps members who previously paid for their online registration but were not mobilized to do so again.
